Using heat and pressure to fuse metallic powder

into a precision part is not the cheapest way, but it

is the best way. Thorens made true sintered

bushings, so why do other companies only offer bored bushings? Because they are cheaper to make! Remember,

“sintered” means heat pressed from powder.AudioSilente has spared no expense to bring you the finest bushings

on the market today.  We have worked with metallurgists to reproduce the original bronze alloy mix and with

other Thorens restoration experts to confirm the original Thorens parts measurements. We have secured the

services of one of the finest companies, experts in creating true sintered bronze parts, to make our molds and the

parts you see here. Our process produces a part with BETTER tolerance than the Thorens original.


Custom produced in Germany, our bushings are checked every 100 units to confirm tolerance within 0.004

millimeters! No other process produces a part with the same porosity, the ability to hold as much oil as the

Thorens original (22%). Porosity is only part of what assures proper lubrication. The capillary system of the

bushing must be perfect through-and-through to assure maximum, even flow of oil from the felt washers,through

the bushing and finally to the motor rotor. The full running surface of the rotor MUST have an uninterrupted oil

film. This is key to achieving optimalperformance, low friction and lower operating temperature. There is ZERO

chance of a production drill smearing the inside of our bushings and closing the oil pores because 

NO DRILLS are used in creating AudioSilente bushings! There is ZERO chance of drill bit marks marring the

running surface of the bushing either - again - NO DRILLS! Your E50 rebuild kit also includes four felt washers, 

one PVC thrust pad and six rivets that replace the original Thorens rivets. AudioSilente’s kit includes these rivets

instead of screws because rivets work better in this application, due to the motor’s significant thermal expansion.
